Abstract
The first activity of search and rescue forces arriving on site is to screen, evaluate, and report the situation to the rescue coordination center. This takes time, which is consequently subtracted from medical care of the injured persons. Figure 1 shows a typical causal chain in the upper line for classical emergency scenarios in Germany from the emergency call to the final delivery of the patient to the hospital (Traditional Emergency Sequence of Events).
