Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of canine gastrointestinal helminths in guardian and herding dogs of Gilanegharb suburb during March 2012 to April 2013. A total number of 138 fecal samples were collected. The overall prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths in the studied animals was 44.92%. The mean of prevalence the gastrointestinal helminths was as follows; Toxocara canis (17.39%), the most prevalent helminths in dogs, Ancylostoma caninum (7.97%), Taenia spp. (10.14%) and mixture of these infections (9.42%).
