Abstract

Purpose: The study was conducted to determine the heart health attitudes of boys and girls who attend sports schools and participate in various sports branches. Method: A total of 336 sports school students, 164 boys and 172 girls, who actively attend sports schools and participate in basketball, handball, taekwondo and kickboxing branches, were included in the study. The Child Heart Health Promotion Attitude Scale, which consists of 4 sub-dimensions, was used in the study. A package program was used for the analysis of the data. Descriptive statistical analyzes, independent sample t-test, and one-way analysis of variance were used for analysis. Results: In the study, it was found that the average of the answers given by the students in basketball and kickboxing in the exercise sub-dimension and in the handball stress sub-dimension, in the basketball and handball branches, was significant at the p<0,05 level. Conclusion: Heart health attitude; It is affected by situations such as family, social environment, education.
