Abstract

The breeding blanket, which contains a large quantity of hollow structures with complex flow paths, is one of the core parts of the fusion reactor. Fabrication of the hollow plate is the most fundamental and difficult process because such kind of hollow plate is restricted by severe requirements of the special application environment from being manufactured by the regular welding and HIP technology. This thesis manufactures the hollow plate with complex flow paths by milling the groove, filling the mould and the explosive welding, and analyzes the interface by mechanical shearing, bending test, bond interface analysis and SEM scanning, and then tests the pressure resistance of flow paths within. The result indicates that the weld interface form a metallurgic bonding without impurity elements with the strength of 478MPa, the weld joint may endure 135° of bending, and the flow paths within are tight enough to resist 7MPa of pressure.
