Abstract

In this study, the heat transfer and flow characteristics of new plate heat exchanger are demonstrated by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. The effect of mass flux on the temperature distribution and pressure drop are observed and analyzed. The results show that the non-active heat transfer regime could be appeared because of corrugation angle. The simulation results are also validated with the experimental data with the good agreement. Finally, from the simulation results, an optimal shape of current plate heat exchanger is proposed to enhance the heat transfer performance.
