Abstract

The study investigate need into the influence of changes in the frequency and power source's voltage on the energy and power indicators for a submersible electric drive with an in-well reactive power compensator. It is made in order to prevent accidents during operation. The study is performed on a simulation model in the MATLAB Simulink software package. Ready-made blocks of electrical devices included in the SimPowerSystem library and blocks of mathematical operations in the Math library are used in the simulation model creating. The dependences of the consumed active and reactive power, the efficiency coefficient and the power factor of a submersible electric drive with a downhole reactive power compensator when the frequency and the power source's voltage change are given. The frequency control range of the power supply is selected from 35 Hz to 50 Hz. It is established that the reactive power of the submerged electric motor with downhole compensator is from 0.39 p.u to 0.52 p.u when the frequency changes from 35 Hz to 50 Hz. The efficiency at 35 Hz is 0.95 and decreases to 0.82 at 50 Hz. The power factor in the range from 35 Hz to 50 Hz varies from 0.69 to 0.95. It is rational in power supply systems.
