Abstract
In 1972 a special research team for investigation of endogenous processes on the data of super-deep boreholes was formed at the Institute of Geology of Ore Deposits, Petrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The team was comprised of experts in mineral deposits, structural analysis and metamorphic and ore petrology. The study has been implemented within the integrated program of continental crust investigations in cooperation with many research institutes of the Ministry of Geology and Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Kozlovsky 1982).
