Abstract
The electronic structure of superconducting Chevrel phases (SnMo 6S 8, PbMo 6S 8, Cu 2.8Mo 6S 8) and nonsuperconducting spinel (GaMo 4S 8) was investigated by X-ray emission (XES) and X-ray photoelectron (XPS) spectroscopy. The comparison of the obtained results with band structure and cluster calculations of given compounds was performed.
