Abstract

Radiation induced graphite dimensional and lattice parameters changes were studied during electron irradiation in situ in a column of electron microscope. We obtain the dose dependencies of graphite relative dimensional and lattice parameters changes at temperatures −190, 20, 200, 400, 600 and 950°C. The experimental results showed a decrease of displacement threshold energy for carbon atoms in graphite along the base planes with increase of irradiation temperatures. We discuss the features of graphite radiation damage at different temperatures.
