Abstract

Fullerene (C60) has been used extensively as an acceptor material in organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells. Other applications including n-channel organic thin film transistors (OTFT) and C60 based organic superconductors have been reported more than a decade ago. Ordinarily C60 behaves as a strongly n-type organic semiconductor with the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) close to the Fermi level. We have investigated p-doping of C60 with molybdenum oxide (MoOx) with ultra-violet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS), inverse photoemission spectroscopy (IPES) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
