Abstract

This work presents some results regarding experimental research of the blow-off spherical particles of purity aluminium by turbulent air flow from flat smooth metal surfaces. The experiments were carried out with particles of narrow fractions with the lognormal function of distribution by size (the standard geometrical deviation − 1.2; the mean geometrical diameter 12–40 um). It was experimentally investigated that the size of particles and the angle of incidence plates influenced the adhesion number essentially. The beginning of blow-off particle process is determined by the Reynolds number of outer flow Re*, and its quickness depends on the materials of tested surfaces insignificantly but does not depend on the size of particles.
