Abstract

Laboratuary mice are valuable species that are commonly used in different studies. The physiology and anatomy of related organs and tissues must be well known to have clinical practices, sugical operations and organ transplantations. Although the most commonly used in scientific research laboratory mice living things no research on the kidney and adrenal gland heve been performed. When we planned this study and found no such studies in the literature rewiew. For this purpose examined the arterial vascularization of kidney and adrenal gland of 24 units white Balb‐c laboratory mice. We obtained different magnifications of images both on corrosion casts and live tissues by dissection with latex injection, corrosion cast and electron microscopy techniques. The kidneys were determined to be supplied by A. renalis which gives of from aorta as a sigle branch. No anatomosis were observed in the branching arteries of kidneys but the polar arteries were observed in both left and right kidneys. Gl. suprarenalis dextra was spherical where Left adrenal gland was drop like in shape. A. suprarenalis cranialis, a. suprarenalis media and a. suprarenalis caudales were observed to supply left adrenal gland. Out of 24 materials, only one had right adrenal gland supplied by a. suprarenales media whereas in the remaining materials only a. suprarenalis caudalis were supplying right adrenal gland. Besides none of the materials were observed to have a. suprarenalis cranialis.
