Abstract

The phase composition and superconducting properties of BiPbSrCaCu oxide materials of different nominal compositions are investigated by X-ray diffraction patterns and ac susceptibility curves. A two-step transition in the χ'(T) curve for all samples is clearly observed above 77 K. The loss peak (χ″(T)) in the lower temperature range shifts from 94.4 to 104.4 K with the phase compositions. A possible interpretation of the ac susceptibility of Bi-based superconductors is given.
