Abstract

Theoretical and experimental investigations of the radiation patterns of one-null-steering four-element antenna array are presented. This method of nulling based on controlling signal combination in the feeder network, consisting of two ring hybrid couplers with sum and difference outputs, amplifier/attenuator and power dividers, is very simple to analyse and implement and may be very effective for some applications. A null steering range of about 40° has been obtained and some difficulties with the practical realisation of this method are shown and analysed.
