Abstract
The paper describes the design of a new LiF TL dosemeter optimised for measuring personal dose equivalent, Hp(d). The results obtained with four different types of phantom, i.e. a PMMA slab, water slab, ICRU sphere and Alderson Rando phantom, and pertinent conversion coefficients show, that the conversion coefficients for the TE slab phantom are suitable for the calibration of TLD individual dosemeters of a PMMA slab phantom. In the energy range 17 keV to 1250 keV the energy response for Hp(10) and Hp(0.07) is within - 20% to 8.4% for frontal irradiation. For angles within ± 60 o the dosemeters indicate Hp(10) within 0 to 22.5%, and Hp(0.07) within -11.1% to 1.3% respectively.
