Abstract

In this paper, the unsteady condition of rolling mill vibration caused by flexural-vibration of the strip is investigated. The parametric flexural-vibration equation of a rolled strip is established. Based on Floquet theory and the perturbation method, the parametric flexural-vibration stability of a rolled strip has been studied and the region of stability and unsteadiness determined. The flexural-vibration of the strip is unstable if the frequency of variable tension is twice that of the natural frequency of the flexural-vibration strip. The characteristics of the electrical current in a temp driving motor’s main loop are studied and tested, and it is confirmed that there are 6 humorous current ponderance and 12 humorous current ponderance in the main circuit of the driving motor. The vertical vibration of the working roller is tested, which confirms that running unsteadiness caused by parametric vibration exists, which attaches importance to the parametric vibration of the rolling mill.
