Abstract

An optimization is presented of the blank shape and the effect of the pressure in the die cavity on the formed parts by using a typical aluminum alloy used in aircraft manufacturing. By means of both numerical simulation and experiment, using two typical parts in aircraft, the forming processes in hydromechanical deep drawing are discussed and the key process parameters are optimized. The experimental results keep reasonable agreement with the numerical one.
