Abstract
1. Compounds of metals — metallides — possess special, individual properties and play a very important role in the complex of physicochemical and mechanical properties of metallic alloys. They are also of independent importance as the basis for new inorganic materials with special physical properties. 2. The properties of metallides may be substantially changed through their interaction with one another and the formation of metallide solid solutions, eutectic mixtures, and complex multielement compounds. 3. The level of physicochemical and mechanical properties in systems of metallides is substantially higher than in simple metallic systems. Metallic compounds and their solid solutions are new materials with special physical properties, used in various branches of technology.
