Abstract
The arcing phenomenon in high voltage is one of the main failure modes for high power microwave and millimeter wave (MW/MMW) tubes. According operating principle of vacuum electronic devices, the factors of leading the arcing are discussed and the approaches for eliminating the arcing phenomenon are given in this paper. The theoretical and designing foundation raising the reliability for MW/MMW tubes are provided.
