Investigation and analysis of AIDS knowledge for female in Zhejiang

Abstract

Objective To understand the AIDS knowledge, attitude to HIV infection, condom using and information approach of female in Zhejiang province, and to provide reference method for carrying out AIDS health education. Methods A stratified multi-stage cluster sampling method was used. A total of 1041 women were investigated by face-to-face interviews and anonymous questionnaire methods in three different areas in Zhejiang province. Results Awareness rate of AIDS transmission route was 84.3%, awareness rate of non-transmission route was 66.5%, awareness rate of AIDS serf susceptihitity was 61.5%. People still feared and discriminated against HIV infection persons. The use of condom was not often. Conclusions For health education in AIDS knowledge, more information of non-transmission route and serf susceptibility knowledge should be given.
