Abstract
Investigating the Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and High-Resolution Multispectral Imagery to Characterize Grain Sorghum Senescence Patterns
Highlights
Grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] is an important crop grown worldwide (Stefoska-Needham et al, 2015)
Grain sorghum is important to producers around the world
In precipitation-limited environments, sorghum is the grain of choice because it is able to produce grain yields with limited precipitation
Summary
Grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] is an important crop grown worldwide (Stefoska-Needham et al, 2015). It is used as a food source for humans and animals, as well as in biofuel production systems. It is especially important to the world’s dryland cropping systems, being well-adapted to precipitation-limited environments (Jordan et al, 2012). Many grain sorghum genetic lines have the ability to resist post-flowering drought stress that can severely limit grain yields (Sanchez et al, 2002). This ability is in part because of the “stay-green” (SG)
