Abstract

Background: The present study was conducted in order to determine the role of spiritual and mental health in the social behaviors of adolescents in Tabriz city. Methods: The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the research was made up of all the teenagers of Tabriz who were studying in the second semester of 2019-2018. A multi-stage random cluster method was used for sampling. The number of sample people was 379 people. Subjects were tested using the 20-question spiritual health scale of Palutzian and Ellison (1982), Keys and Hiller's mental health scale (2002), and the 25-question social tendency scale of Carlo et al. (2003). In order to analyze the data, multiple regression analysis was used. Results: The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the components of spiritual health have a positive and significant relationship with social behaviors. And the results of the regression analysis showed that among the components of mental health, mental health has a negative relationship with social behaviors, and the components of social health and emotional-well-being have a positive and significant relationship. Conclusion: According to the results, it can be concluded that by improving spiritual health and mental health in adolescents, desirable social behaviors in them will also increase.
