Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine a research model established with concepts from the field of organizational behavior based on a different perspective. In this study, data were collected in different time periods as opposed to cross-sectional collection. An experimental design was carried out and data were collected from 10 teaching staff including 6 assistants, 3 instructors and 1 expert working in a private university from Turkey over a period of 15 days in the morning and evening hours. The results showed that the variable appearing to have a full mediating effect on one day does not have a mediation effect on the next day. Considering research models and mediation analyzes are affected by daily mood changes of employees, it was revealed that conducting the study using longitudinal data produced stronger results and are more accurate in making future predictions. This result of the study is considered to be of great importance, particularly in terms of research in the field of organizational behavior.
