Abstract

University education has a great importance in the development of both the individuals and the societies they belong to. Students who are successful in university education can perform their jobs more successfully in the future. This is reflected in the efficiency and welfare of the society. In this respect, the factors affecting the success of university students in their education are worthy of research. In this study, it has been investigated whether the success levels of Department of Industrial Engineering, Gaziantep University students differ in terms of various variables. As a result of the study, it was found that the general point average (GPA) of university students differed significantly according to their genders, educational programs, age ranges and classes. In addition, it was observed that the GPA of the students did not differ significantly according to the geographical regions they came from and their horoscopes. It is thought that the results of the study can be used to educate the students more successfully.
