Abstract

To investigate the published papers on electronic transparency in national journals rankedin the Qualis-CAPES, we conducted an exploratory research through a bibliometric studywith a quantitative approach. The results include: the number of articles published eachyear; journals that more published on the subject; effectiveness of bibliometric laws;universities leading the research on the topic, the most referenced papers and mostreferenced authors; the themes used in the construction of the background of the articles. From the few articles identified, we find a concentration of publications in 2008, 2009 and2011. A second observed concentration refers to the number of papers in Journalsclassified as A2 at Qualis Capes, with emphasis for the “Revista de Administracao Publica, with seven papers. We observed a concentration of articles regarding the authorship of thepapers, however this concentration is not related to the journals in which we identified thelargest number of published papers. In other words, authors who have published more noconcentrated their publications in journals with the highest number of papers. Concerningto the authors and more referenced papers the findings confirm the occurrences of subjectsused in the construction of background of the papers. In general, we find that there is muchto be researched on the topic, opening up a range of opportunities for studies, theoreticaland/or empirical researchers who want to contribute to this issue of Public Administration.
