Abstract

AbstractUnlike wedge windshield technology that mitigates HUD image ghosting by reducing the ghost disparity angle, P‐pol combiner film windshields improve image quality by reducing the relative ghost luminance (RGL). Initial survey data indicate that this approach produces mostly imperceptible ghosting and high‐quality, legible images, and confirms that the RGL metric must be included along with the disparity angle when evaluating HUD ghosting.
