Abstract

Background: Inverted papilloma is a benign yet locally aggressive neoplasm of the paranasal sinuses with a propensity for recurrence and potential for malignant transformation. Inverted papilloma with intracranial extension represents a rare clinical presentation of this tumor. Here we describe a case of nonrecurrent inverted papilloma with intracranial extension and present a comprehensive review and analysis of cases published in the literature identifying the characteristics of intracranial disease and the efficacy of surgical and adjuvant treatment.
