Abstract

Inverse-geometry computed tomography (CT) has potential in security inspection and medical applications. In this work, we explore a new concept of IGCT in stationary configuration with linearly distributed source and detector (L-IGCT). To develop an exact analytical reconstruction for L-IGCT, we derive a direct filteredbackprojection (FBP) type algorithm. We validate our method by simulation of a Shepp-Logan head phantom, in which CT images are exactly reconstructed from two L-IGCT scans, whose detector arrays are perpendicular to each other to provide sufficient projection data.
