Abstract

This paper presents an inverse characterization method adapted for thermocompressed structures with poroelastic materials. This method relies on the comparison between a numerical model and experimental data. Here the comparison is made on the mean quadratic velocity of a vibrating plate. The numerical model uses shell elements based on the P-order Shear Deformation Theory with an added Zigzag function (ZPST). The Biot’s model with orthotropic stress–strain relations is considered for the poroelastic layers. The elastic parameters of the poroelastic layers are estimated by best fitting with the measurements. This method is applied on a sandwich plate. A good agreement between the measurements and the simulations is obtained after the inverse characterization.
