Abstract

In this article, an inverse methodology is presented for reconstruction of temperature distribution in non-gray media between two diffuse-gray parallel plates from the knowledge of the directional total radiation intensities at boundary surfaces. The spectral line-based weighted sum of gray gases model is implemented through the modified discrete ordinate method for solving the radiative transfer equation. The inverse problem is solved using the modified Levenberg-Marquart method to minimize an objective function, which is defined as the sum of square residuals between measured and estimated total radiation intensities. The effects of errors in input data and measured radiative properties are investigated.
