Abstract

Economic order quantity (EOQ) model has been used extensively over a century. Many studies have altered the model to imitate the actual inventory problem. This paper extends the traditional EOQ model and considers an inventory condition where items received are partly with imperfect quality and non-instantaneous deterioration after inspection. We assume the imperfect quality items are discarded immediately by the end of the 100% screening process. A mathematical model is developed and numerical examples along with graphical representation and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the model.
