Abstract

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) held the Eleventh Annual Meeting of the NAI in Phoenix, AZ, in June 2022. The event, whose theme was "Defining the Future: Inventing for Tomorrow," consisted of keynotes, panel discussions, induction ceremonies for Senior Members and new Fellows, and a student showcase, all of which honored and empowered the world's brightest innovators and professionals by creating powerful connections between them and by generating the momentum that will enhance and transform our innovation ecosystem. In his State of the Academy address, Paul R. Sanberg, president of the NAI, discussed the year's advances, including a new diversity initiative undertaken in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He also provided updates on existing programs, such as the NAI Fellows program and the Chapter program, as well as exciting new ventures like the new Sentinel Award.
