Abstract

Base on 1945 Indonesian constitutional in article 31, define that everyone have opportunities to get education. Formal education in Indonesia starts from elementary school (SD). One of the strategies how to achieving educational goals for elementary school student is start to give motivation to read books. Analysis of the situation in this program are as follows: One of the State Elementary Schools (SDN) in Tambun Selatan District, Bekasi, has a library. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this library has been neglected. The function turns into a storage space for goods, because only this space is not used. The school library needs to be revitalized so that its resources can be utilized optimally by students when learning activities begin again. This community service program helps school to revitalize the library so the function of library can be return and become a fun reading corner. The problems that occur are due to: 1) due to social distancing all activities, so for two years education activities tend to be carried out at home (online); 2) in the Covid 19 pandemic era, student activities do not use school facilities; 3) the function of SDN library is not use as for place to read and to borrow books; 4) lots of dusty and damaged books; 5) the library is uncomfortable place. Hence, the library already needs to be addressed so that they can be reused as the function. This situation is community service program motivation to carrying out to revitalize the SDN library in Tambun Selatan District, Bekasi. The solution to solve the problems given to SDN in Tambun Selatan District, Bekasi was carried out in several stages, such as conducting an inventory of existing resources as a needed, revitalizing (dismantling, repairing and cleaning back) the library room, changing the layout and circulation of borrowing books, making place for other literacy, book donations. This activity is carried out within one month. The outputs produced in the program for implementing the SDN library revitalization in Tambun Selatan District, Bekasi include; 1) reports; 2) non- published module books, 3) publication of community service journals with the title Inventory and Revitalization of Public Elementary School Library Management in South Tambun District, Bekasi.
