Abstract

The invariant imbedding concept is used to obtain some unusual missing boundary conditions. It is shown that this concept is very versatile and can be used in a variety of ways depending on the ingenuity of the user. One problem solved is to obtain the proper initial conditions so that the Van Der Pol equation will have a solution with a given period. The other problem considered is the estimation of reactor length with a very nonlinear reaction term.
