Abstract

This chapter surveys Harvey Friedman's work on intuitionistic logic and intuitionistic arithmetic, most of which dates from 1971 through 1977. It was also around 1971 that Friedman took interest in set theories based on intuitionistic logic, a topic covered in the chapter by Andrej Scedrov. Proofs are outlined for the most important of Friedman's published theorems, as well as for some (but not all) of Friedman's unpublished results, available to date only in sketchy memoranda.
