Abstract

Deficiencies in managing emotions have been observed in numerous psychopathological disorders, which highlights the importance of improving patients’ ability to deal with their emotions in clinical practice. Patients with eating disorders are no exception. This article presents a brief review of the literature on emotion management mechanisms identified in patients with eating disorders and proposes vectors for change in adaptive emotion management intervention models based on mindfulness and acceptance.
