 No panorama nacional, se nos anos 1970 a pesquisa colocou acento na necessidade teó- rica que permitiu questionar a Geografia em suas possibilidades de entender o mundo, vivemos hoje um momento de refluxo (o que requer explicação), em que o debate teórico e o marxismo aparecem envoltos numa nuvem de preconceitos. Esse é um dos desafios que devemos enfrentar neste século.
