Abstract

Abstract This book, which contains 15 chapters, aims to develop an elementary statistics text for and about the growing number of people who have chosen to make careers in the fields of forestry, forest products, conservation and other natural sciences. Statistical topics that are commonplace in a forestry context - design of experiments, sampling methods, non-parametric tests and statistical quality control - are discussed. Examples and exercises drawn from the fields of forestry, wood science, and conservation are also given. This book is intended for undergraduate students, practitioners and researchers in the field of forestry and other natural sciences.
