Abstract
Abstract This essay introduces the four articles that comprise the special issue of Canadian-American Slavic Studies on “Gender and War.” It highlights the variety of methods that contributors employ to explain the personal, social, and political linkages of war and gender. The essay also suggests pathways for future research.
