The new emphasis on differentiation in Soviet education, and on fitting the school to the needs of the child, is beginning to have an effect on all types of schools, including those for pupils with special needs. In this issue, we present a number of recent articles that deal with some of the problems currently being faced by those parts of the Soviet educational system that cater to children with special needs.
