Abstract

With a population of over 1.3 billion inhabitants, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is the most populous country in the world. It was once insignificant in the global economic arena, despite its large population. The Third Plenary of the Eleventh Central Chinese Communist Party Congress (崆尖尦尻岿岻), held in December 1978, is regarded as the turning point in the history of the People’s Republic of China, as it witnessed the inauguration of China’s economic reform. A series of economic reforms since then have led to a ‘socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics’ (峾峍峗峛岟岩峈峽峿崾崼峬).KeywordsGross Domestic ProductChinese CultureHuman Resource PracticeSocialist Market EconomyChinese ThinkingThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
