Abstract

Abstract This chapter argues for the importance of the Yablo paradox, and motivates the chapters to follow. Particular attention is paid to the thought that our theorizing, up to now, regarding semantic paradox has been somewhat narrow in that it has focused for the most part on the manifestly circular Liar paradox, and that as a result new insights and lessons can be obtained by focusing on other sorts of construction— the Yablo paradox being a central, and promising, such example.
