Abstract

Abstract The question “What makes life worth living?” assumes that life is or can be worth living. Perhaps this is an unwarranted assumption. The question “Is life worth living?” comes first. The question is not “Is life lived?” or even “Do people seek to live out their lives?” Nor is it “Do people care about going on-possibly for as long as possible-sometimes even longer than is sensible?” These are easy questions.
