Abstract

This Special Issue of The Journal of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics contains 11 expanded papers originally presented at the Ninth International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR 2002). This conference was held in Santa Barbara, California, USA from April 29–May 2, 2002 and was hosted by the University of California, Santa Barbara and Bechtel Nevada. It continued the biennial series of international scientific symposia devoted to the development of GPR. Engineers, scientists and end users from 21 countries presented 132 papers on the most recent research and case studies. GPR 2002 exhibited the importance that GPR technology now plays in solving geophysical, geotechnical and environmental problems.
