Abstract
Welcome to the Workshop on Binary Instrumentation and Applications. Binary instrumentation is a commonly used tool in many areas of computer science and engineering research. By using instrumentation to insert code to observe the dynamic behavior of programs, researchers can model the behavior of memory systems, collect profiles to guide compiler optimization, inject and detect faults in programs, and implement security policies. This workshop is an opportunity for developers and users of binary instrumentation tools to exchange ideas.
