Introduction to Films of Computer Simulation of Elastic Waves in a Solid

Abstract

The outline of three films of a computer simulation of elastic waves is summarized. The computer simulation of the radiation of elastic waves from a normal transducer on a solid half space is treated in the first film, and the radiation of elastic waves from a y-cut transducer is shown in the second film. Reflections of a longitudinal or transverse wave by a crack of simple shape are clarified in the third film. Mechanisms of the radiation or refraction of elastic waves are disclosed by computer simulation.
