Abstract

The primary purpose of this book is to introduce the reader to the basic principles of insurance and risk with their special application to the aviation industry. It is designed for several similar, yet distinct markets (1) the college student enrolled in an aviation or insurance program who, as a prospective manager, must recognize and appreciate the basic concepts and underwriting techniques peculiar to insuring against aviation risks, (2) the corporate pilot, fixed base operator, or other individual in the aviation industry who is charged with the responsibility of protecting his firm's assets and, (3) an individual in the insurance business such as a trainee with an aviation insurance company or an agent or broker who needs to know more about this growing field of insurance.
