Abstract

This conclusory chapter of this book titled Al-Andalus, Sepharad and Medieval Iberia Cultural Contact and Diffusion provides some closing comments on the influence of contact across cultures in al-Andalus and Medieval Iberia. The purpose of this book is to probe more widely and deeply into the context of contact in the Iberian Peninsula through the sixteenth century. The chapters have been grouped into three sections that study various manifestations of contact: contact through art and learning, through society and culture and through conflict. The chapters in each section center around the boundaries of contact and how that contact either crossed or reinforced cultural borders in the broadest sense of the word: including those of art, thought, ethno-religious beliefs and political realms.Keywords: al-Andalus; medieval Iberia cultural contact
