Abstract

The issue of workplace learning has received increasing attention from academics and practitioners alike since the 1990s. A body of knowledge is starting to accumulate about the question of how learning in the workplace might be encouraged. This book brings together a range of state-of-the-art research papers all addressing interventions to support learning in the workplace. The authors are experienced researchers in the field of HRD and workplace learning, who have an interest in making HRD and workplace learning practices more evidence based, through practically relevant research. Most chapters present new empirical research in an area that has gained much attention from HRD practitioners over the last decade but is relatively under-researched empirically.
