Introduction: Special issue devoted in memory of Professor Oleg V. Shishkin

Abstract

This special issue is devoted in memory of our dear friend and outstanding scientist, Oleg Valer’evich. Shishkin. He suddenly passed away on July 17, 2014, at the age 48. Professor Shishkin was a well-known scientist in the chemical community. His entire life was devoted to the study of the molecular and crystal structures of chemical compounds, and their properties, using several experimental and theoretical techniques. This volume includes contributions from his friends and colleagues. It also reflects on his broad and innovative research interests. We would like to thank all the authors for their valuable and timely contributions. We would also like to thank the editors of Structural Chemistry for the opportunity to publish this special issue in this journal.
